When is the iPhone 14 Coming Out?

The iPhone 14 is expected to be available in the Fall. Some rumors claim it will be an eSim-only model, while others suggest a price increase. Here's what we know so far. The iPhone 14 will have a new 5G chip and a larger screen.

an eSim-only variant of the iPhone 14

The iPhone 14 series is expected to come with eSIM support and a nano-SIM card slot. In addition, Apple may also release a model that has a SIM card slot for non-eSIM carriers. Apple has been slowly expanding its eSIM capabilities on its smartphones. It first introduced the technology with the iPhone XS Max but most recently added dual eSIM support to the iPhone 13.

The iPhone 14 is expected to be a significant upgrade over the iPhone 13 series, and Apple has already released several leaks and rumors. If the new model is indeed as exciting as rumors suggest, it could be even better than the iPhone 13. The current rumors are pointing towards a redesign, the removal of the Face ID notch, and a better camera setup.

New 5G chip

The iPhone 14 will feature a new 5G chip. The company behind the iPhone 12 and 13 is expected to supply the chip for the iPhone 14 line-up. The new chip will be based on TSMC's 6nm manufacturing process. It's expected to deliver speeds of up to 10Gb/s and will support both sub-6GHz and mmWave 5G spectrum. The new chip is likely to be smaller than Qualcomm's modems and be more efficient on the sub-6GHz and mmWave 5G bands.

The 5G chip in the iPhone 14 is expected to be much smaller than the previous generation, which was believed to be made on TSMC's 4nm process. This should allow Apple to squeeze in a larger battery while still retaining the same level of performance. The new chip is also expected to feature a power management chip that can better control power usage.

Price increase

Apple's iPhone 14 lineup is expected to include a price hike. As the global economy continues to deteriorate, Apple is forced to pass on increasing component costs to its customers. In addition, the company is struggling with supply chain issues in China.

Apple's next-generation iPhones will come with different materials. The standard 6.1-inch model will use the M11 material set, while the 6.7-inch model will use the M12 material set. This could drive up the price of the iPhone 14 line, but it is unlikely that it will be a significant increase.

The iPhone mini and iPhone 13 will have similar base storage sizes. However, the iPhone 13 Pro models feature higher base storage, starting at 128GB. The iPhone 14 lineup is expected to feature more storage than the iPhone 13 series.

Size

Rumors say that the iPhone 14 will be available in two screen sizes: 6.1 inches for the regular model and 6.7 inches for the iPhone 14 Pro. While the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 will be the most popular, a correspondingly large version will be available for those who want an extra-large display. In addition, the iPhone 14 Pro will be a slightly bigger device than the normal iPhone 14; it's likely to be slightly thicker and sport a stainless steel frame. Both of these iPhones are expected to be compatible with Face ID.

The iPhone 14 lineup will feature a larger camera bump and a larger backspace than the iPhone 13 model. This is aimed to discourage case interchangeability. According to mockups, the thickness and backspace of the upcoming iPhone 14 models are increased by about one-third. This is also the iPhone 14 Pro Max case, which is rumored to be 4.17 mm thick.

Color options

Rumors abound about the next iPhone from Apple. One rumor says the iPhone 14 will come in purple. Another rumor claims the phone will be available in dark matte purple. This color has been available on previous versions of the iPhone, including the iPhone 12 mini. However, the purple color was dropped from the lineup for the iPhone 13 and has yet to be officially confirmed by Apple.

Apple has not yet confirmed or denied a date for the iPhone 14, but it has hinted at minor design changes. For example, the camera bumps on the Pro models could become thicker. It's also expected to introduce new color options. The company has reportedly been working on improving the camera, and the iPhone 14 is expected to have a 48-megapixel camera. It will also come with 8K video recording capabilities. Apple has also been working on improving its Telephoto lens, though this feature may be limited to the Pro models.
